Mission
Hew became established after founder, Oliver Milne (Oli), was moved to create pieces which are recognised for their sustainability, quality, and original design.
Inspired by living simpler and living slower, Oli is an advocate for buying higher quality goods that last longer, resulting in less waste.
With Hew, Oli combines well-established woodwork techniques with contemporary design to create furniture and homewares which last a lifetime and beyond.
Background
Oli Milne has been making furniture for over 10 years after founding furniture design company Forge Creative with childhood friend Josh Kennard. The two have worked on many exciting projects over the years such as a giant log table for the National Trust Glencoe Visitor Centre and a bespoke ping pong table for Peletons London office.
The two have also had great success with their brand - The Arboretum and their popular wooden tree ornaments.
Oli stepped down as a director of Forge Creative to pursue his vision for Hew but still spends part of his time working together with Josh on various projects.

Trees give us the timber we need to make wonderful things. So Hew is giving back. With the purchase of every Hew product, sculpture or item of furniture we will see that a tree is planted.
100 Year Guarantee
All furniture is guaranteed against breakage for 100 Years. So long as your it’s not the result of miss-use; if your item breaks I will fix it free of charge.
Repair & Renew
After decades of use if you wish to renew your furniture that’s not a problem. Because all our furniture is made from solid wood it can be sanded back and re-finished. I can do this for a small charge. Cost will mostly vary on distance of call out.
